Everyone seems to be getting on the battle royale train, with dozens of games churning out their own battle royale modes. Well, it’s no surprise that an MMORPG will look to make its mark. Enter Skyforge, a freemium MMORPG set in the world of Aelion where players battle denizens in various locales. It’s definitely not as big as World of Warcraft, but hey, it does seem to have a dedicated following. That’s probably why developers Allods Team and publisher My.com set out to craft Skyforge: Battle Royale, which is, you guessed it, the game’s foray into the hit genre.

Skyforge: Battle Royale

In Skyforge, players can unlock multiple classes. These 15 unique classes then have their own skill sets and strengths. Skyforge: Battle Royale will use a somewhat similar formula. Unlike other games like Fortnite where heroes are pretty much your run-of-the-mill-everyman with few distinctions, the MMORPG’s spinoff will allow you to pick from multiple classes as well.

Whenever you start a match, you get to pick a spawn point randomized each time. From there, like every battle royale game, you scavenge for weapons and try to tactically outsmart opponents. However, in Skyforge‘s take on the genre, there’d be airdrops and special monsters to keep you on your toes.

As mentioned, because you can choose from classes, each one will have its own unique capabilities. No doubt that will increase replay value for the game. Then again, players might uncover a class that’s more preferable than others and everyone would pick that just to gain an advantage. Who knows?

What we do know is that Skyforge: Battle Royale is set for release on August 28 for PC, August 29 for PS4, and August 30 for the Xbox One. If you wish to preorder, you can do so as early as the 17th. As usual, Daily Esports will keep you up to date with more news.
