Psyonix revealed Rocket League Season 7 today, announcing that the season is set to begin on June 15.
Rocket League Season 7 has a luxury theme, including a Rolls Royce-esque battle-car included with the premium Rocket Pass, the Maestro. Along with the new Rocket Pass, the new season also introduces an alternate version of the Utopia Map and a Summer Anniversary Event.
Rocket League Season 7 brings the class
After a poorly received toon themed Rocket Pass for Season 6, Psyonix gets the opportunity to win back the community with the new luxury-themed Rocket Pass 7. The premium version of the Rocket Pass gives players the Maestro battle-car, which sports the Dominus hitbox. Other items that were mentioned as part of the Rocket Pass were the Carat Cutter Wheels and Marble Floor Decal.
To accompany Rocket League Season 7, Utopia Coliseum gets an alternate version, Gilded. Like last season’s toon-themed (but barely changed) Neo Tokyo arena, the alternate version of Utopia will feature minor changes to match the season’s aesthetic. In this case, the floor has been given a marble treatment, while the surrounding areas have been covered in gold and red carpet. Whether that’s going to be enough for the community remains to be seen. For now, the community has seemingly decided to believe that the underwhelming content has to do with most development resources going toward the Unreal Engine 5 transition.
Psyonix has stayed quiet on details about the Summer Anniversary Limited Time Event to celebrate Rocket League’s seventh birthday so far. In Season 6, Psyonix turned the formula on its head with the Knockout LTM that introduced a PvP aspect without a ball or goals, which was met with much excitement. The developers are set to reveal more on the Summer Anniversary event at a later date, but players will have to wait for now.
Season 6 rewards
When the new season begins, players will be given the rewards for their competitive rank in Season 6. Some items, like Trails, have largely been underrepresented in the ranked rewards, but Psyonix has chosen to give out yet another decal this season. Despite that, the general response to the Season 6 rewards has been positive.
Rocket League Season 7 begins on June 15 after a game update on June 14 at 7 p.m. ET.
