Rocket League is adding another Batmobile to the game with the release of ‘The Batman’ in theaters, Psyonix announced on Friday. The 2022 Batmobile makes its entrance as the fourth of its kind in the game.

While ‘The Batman” arrives in theaters on March 4, the new Rocket League 2022 Batmobile releases on March 2. The battle-car will use the dominus hitbox and will set players back 1,100 credits, or $10.

The 2022 Batmobile joins the Rocket League bat battalion

The 2022 Batmobile joins a history of Batman battle-cars in Rocket League. The 2016 Batmobile from “Batman vs. Superman” was the first to enter the game in March of 2016. Then, in 2018, two more joined the ranks with the 1989 Batmobile and The Dark Knight’s Tumbler.

Despite there being many new cars from popular intellectual properties, the 2016 Batmobile is the only car that saw a large amount of action. For the first several seasons – and still, occasionally – it was used at the higher ranks and professional level. Like the Dominus, it has lately seen less action in favor of the ever-popular Octane and Octane-hitboxed Fennec.

The 2022 Batmobile’s dominus hitbox puts it beside the 1989 version, which is rarely seen in ranked gameplay. Whether this version will change up the formula, however, remains to be seen. Either way, fans of the franchise or the latest film entry will be able to represent Gotham’s defender.

Various other items are coming to Rocket League with the 2022 Batmobile bundle. This includes a Batmobile boost, trail, wheels, paint finish, engine audio and decal. All of these items are mandatory and exclusive to use on the Batmobile, while the car also can’t be customized further with other items. This is in line with the other Batmobiles and licensed cars.

Gotham City Rumble LTM

Along with the release of the new battle-car, the limited-time mode of Gothan City Rumble is also making its return to the game. This mode isn’t any different from regular rumble, except that the items are themed after the Batman franchise.
