Riot Games has announced that it will host a livestream showcasing new Legends of Runeterra artwork. Called “Draw with Riot,” the livestream will be hosted by Legends of Runeterra principal concept artist Chris Campbell. Draw with Riot will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET on May 29 and will feature Campbell as he works on designing art for a new character.

The Draw with Riot livestream gives players a chance to “peek behind the curtain” in the design process of creating units. Gamers will have an opportunity to get a detailed look into the type of work that goes into bringing a card to life.

Players might be familiar with some of Campbell’s work from cards like Ruthless Raider and Terror of the Tides. He has also worked on several champions in League of Legends, including Aurelion Sol, Azir, and Xayah. You can see more of his work on his Instagram.

Draw with Riot’s community art contest

Viewers will also find opportunities to participate and potentially earn some Legends of Runeterra rewards. Once the two-hour event ends, viewers can share their takes on the new unit on Twitter. All artists have to do is tag @PlayRuneterra and include the #drawwithriot tag along with their take on the new unit. Riot will pick eleven winners to get in-game rewards. These can include champions, epic and rare cards, or an expedition token. The artists picked for this event will also have their art featured on the official Legends of Runterra Twitter account.

One lucky artist with the best piece of art submitted will win the grand prize. They will get to have a one-on-one conversation with Chris Campbell. Riot will announce the winners of the contest on June 10.

Riot Games has always had a close relationship with community artists. The developer has a long history of gifting players RP for fan artwork of all types. Everything from MS Paint to professional artwork comes through Riot’s customer service team, and it loves to show it off. As of last year, Riot has given away more than 7,500,000 RP to fans sending in artwork, and it encourages fans to send more.

Make sure to stay tuned for more information as the Draw with Riot event draws nearer. Don’t forget to follow Daily Esports for all your Legends of Runeterra news, updates, and more.
