Respawn Entertainment announced new details for the Apex Legends 3rd Anniversary Collection Event, which runs from Feb. 15 to March 1. The event will introduce prestige skins, legendary squad skins and a reward tracker featuring community-created cosmetics.

Prestige skins

Prestige skins introduce a new rarity level to Apex Legends. They are cosmetic Legends skins that can be upgraded through three unique tiers, changing the skin’s appearance. After purchasing the Tier 1 skin, challenges will become available for the player to unlock Tiers 2 and 3 at no additional cost. The player will not have a time limit on completing these challenges, and they can choose to equip any tier of the skin once they’ve been unlocked.

Bloodhound’s prestige skin challenges:

  • Tiers 1 and 2: Deal 30,000 damage with Bloodhound
  • Tiers 2 and 3: Deal 70,000 additional damage with Bloodhound

Bloodhound’s Tier 3 prestige skin comes with a special finisher called “Piercing Plasma.”

Squad skins

During the Apex anniversary event, players can also purchase squad skins. These legendary rarity skins are thematically based on fan-favorite skins from the past. Squad skins will be inspired by Crypto’s “Hypebeast” and Caustic’s “Blackheart,” among others.

Apex’s third anniversary will feature a reward tracker with exclusively community-created skins, gun buddies and more. The tracker has 12 cosmetics, bringing the total available skins during the event to 24. The event store will also have exclusive offers throughout the duration of the event.

Apex Legend Season 12 began on Feb. 8, bringing a host of new weapon and equipment changes. Loot changes also affect the guns and equipment that players can find around the map. The Hop-Up weapon attachment will also make its return. Lastly, the new season brought a new Legend, Mad Maggie.
