Respawn Entertainment has pushed an update to Apex Legends that fixes a noted bug with Bloodhound’s Prestige Skin. The bug is resetting the progress made on the skin’s damage challenges. The skin was released along with Apex Legends‘ Anniversary event, which runs from Feb. 15 to March 1.
We just pushed an update to @playapex that included fixes for the following:
-Bloodhound's Prestige Skin challenges resetting
-Enabling the leaver penalty for Control
-Certain Bloodhound stat trackers not working
-The first of several updates to address the fps issue on consoles

This Bloodhound skin was also the first of its kind. Prestige Skins are a new kind of skin that, along with Heirlooms, occupy Mythic rarity status. They are special because unlike other skins, they have three Tiers and a Finisher attached to them. Once the player unlocks Tier 1, they will then have to complete damage challenges to attain Tiers 2 and 3 of the skin as well as the Finisher.
The damage requirements for the Tiers are as follows:
- Tier 2: Deal 30,000 damage as Bloodhound
- Tier 3 and Finisher: Deal 100,000 damage as Bloodhound
Outside the anniversary event, they will only be able to be purchased with Heirloom Shards. For now, though, the skin is available for players who have attained all 24 items in the Anniversary collection. To do this, players have to buy 24 Anniversary packs as each pack is guaranteed to have one Anniversary item. Anniversary packs can only be purchased with Apex coins, which must in turn be purchased with real currency. The total cost for this comes out to around $160.
The Bloodhound Prestige Skin bug
Soon after Bloodhound’s Prestige Skin was unveiled, players who acquired the skin noticed a bug where the progress they made on damage challenges would reset. Considering the hefty sum required to get the skin, players were upset about losing their progress in upgrading the skin.
Respawn shared on Twitter that they were aware of the bug and working on a fix. The fix was pushed to the live game six days later, on Feb. 22.
We are aware of a bug with the Bloodhound Prestige Skin where the damage counter resets in some cases. There is a fix in progress, and we plan to deploy it early next week. In the meantime, we are working on a make-good for lost progress—stay tuned for more details.
