GAM Esports ace jungler Đỗ “Levi” Duy Khánh said he’s interested in playing with a team overseas for the 2022 season, specifically in the League of Legends Championship Series, in an exclusive interview with Upcomer on Nov. 1.
According to reports by Vietnamese outlet Thể Thao and the unofficial Vietnam Championship Series English Twitter account (@VCS_English), the superstar jungler is currently contracted with GAM until Nov. 15. But, Levi will continue to play for GAM for the duration of the VCS 2021 winter season, which lasts from Nov. 16 to Dec. 31. Levi also confirmed this in the interview.
“I will finish 2021 with GAM in the VCS Winter tournament. During that time, I will still look for opportunities to compete abroad in 2022,” Levi said. “My goal is to win the tournament I’m participating in and attend MSI and Worlds.”
The last time Levi played with a team in North America was in 2018 with 100 Thieves Academy, for the season, as well as a few opportunities to play with the main LCS squad. Levi’s 2021 LCS season was cut short due to the effects of COVID-19 on Vietnam. During the 2021 spring regular season, he tied with Team Secret bot laner Hoàng “Eddie” Công Nghĩa for the highest Kills Deaths and Assists ratio (KDA) of all players in the VCS at 6.4, according to Oracle’s Elixir.
Due to complications from COVID-19, the VCS 2021 summer split was canceled and later replaced with the aforementioned winter season. Despite efforts from Riot, the region was also forced to miss Worlds 2021. This marked the third international tournament the VCS did not attend due to the pandemic.

After missing out on so many chances to compete against the world’s best, Levi left a message for international fans wondering how he’s been doing.
“In general, it’s still good,” Levi said. “I miss the international arena a bit when I can’t participate in [two] years because of COVID[-19.]”
Levi isn’t the only VCS player eyeing opportunities abroad during the 2021 offseason. On Nov. 1, Thể Thao reported that Team Secret bot laner Nguyễn “Slayder” Linh Vương was exploring tryouts with an LCS Academy team.
