The Pokémon company has officially announced another Pokémon Go event for the month of January. This Sunday, Jan. 22 from 11:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M local time, there will be a special Incense Day featuring the Electric-type Pokémon Mareep.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming event so far.

Incense day will feature Mareep along with other special Pokémon

Incense day is slightly different from other events in Pokémon GO. As the name implies, players will need to use incense to spawn rare featured Pokémon on this day. Throughout the event, incense will attract Mareep, and there is a chance that it will be shiny.

In addition to Mareep, there will special Pokémon spawns that switch at specific times. Here they are:

  • 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Electric-type Pokémon
  • 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon
  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Electric-type Pokémon
  • 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon

During times that feature Electric-type Pokémon; Pikachu, Magnemite, Voltorb, Chinchou, Mareep, Plusle, Minun, and Stunfisk, among others will spawn with incense. While Dragon-type hours are active, Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon will be appearing, including Horsea, Dratini, Mareep, Trapinch, Vibrava, Swablu and Bagon.

During the event, players will be able to claim a bundle of three incenses for one Poké Coin in the shop. So if you don’t have any incense, you can still participate without paying any money as long as you have one coin to spare.

In addition to the incense spawns, players can also find Mega Ampharos in raids beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 10:00 A.M local time. Ampharos is Mareep’s final evolution, and beating these raids will earn players Mega Ampharos candy to mega evolve it.

Be sure to stock up on Mareep candy along with Mega Ampharos candy during the next week and on the Incense day on Sunday. Keep your eyes out for Plusle and Minun as well if you need them for the Collection Challenge.
