Just days after the Australian Open concluded, Fortnite has announced yet another tournament. This time, it’s an event exclusive to PlayStation 4 users dubbed the “Celebration Cup”. The tournament will feature some cosmetic rewards for those who finish in the top 50% of players who enter. Also, players will be competing for a $1 million prize pool, though it’s unclear how that prize will be distributed. The Celebration Cup will take place Feb. 15-16, with the second day for those who finish the in the top percent of their region.

This is easily the biggest prize pool ever for a console-only tournament in Fortnite. A majority of events throughout the years have taken place on PC, which isn’t a problem for controller players who can afford a computer. Although, most of the controller player base only owns a PlayStation 4.

So, this tournament is big for those who haven’t had the chance to compete in an official Fortnite tournament. As aforementioned, there are cosmetic rewards that accompany the whopping $1 million prize pool. Here’s a list of those rewards:

  • Top 50% – “Take Cover” Spray
  • Top 25% – “Wild Accent” Pickaxe
  • Top 5% – “Tango” Outfit

These rewards will be dished out for each regional leaderboard. Essentially, you don’t need to worry about any other region besides the one you play in. These rewards are available on Feb. 15, which is also the qualifying day for the $1 million prize pool. If you finish in the top percentage of your region, you move on to compete on Feb. 16. If you manage to perform well on this day, you could be in line to receive some of the prize pool.

While this tournament is free, there are a few steps you must perform in order to compete. These steps are to make sure your account is level 25 and have 2-Factor Authentification enabled. The official rules for the tournament can be found on Epic Games’ website.
