With the Challengers stage concluded, fans and analysts reflected on the results. The biggest surprise was Astralis’ failure to qualify. Other big names missing from the Legends stage are Complexity Gaming and MIBR. Out of the teams who did qualify, Team Spirit, Bad News Eagles and Imperial Esports were the wildcards that not everyone expected as Legends.

Imperial Esports became the final team to qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp Legends stage by defeating forZe. That match was highly one-sided with two 16-5 scorelines. Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo rolled back the years with a vintage carry performance, though his teammates were firing on all cylinders as well.

PGL Major Antwerp Legends stage Day 1

There are a handful of exciting Day 1 matches in the Legends stage. FaZe Clan vs. ENCE and Natus Vincere vs. G2 Esports are both matches to watch as they could be playoffs previews. As the two favorites to win the major, many eyes will be on FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere, specifically watching to see what kind of form the two teams are in.

Heroic vs. Team Liquid, the opening match of the day, should also be exciting as the two teams have history and a penchant for exciting matches. On Stream B, most of the matches should be fairly one-sided barring any upsets. Copenhagen Flames vs. Bad News Eagles could be an exciting one to keep an eye on considering how much the Copenhagen Flames seem to level up for majors.
