It’s that time of year, everyone: Once again, North American League of Legends fans are left wondering what happened to their representative at a big international tournament.

Cloud9, carrying the banner of the League Championship Series at the Mid-Season Invitational, have managed to fall flat during MSI’s Rumble stage, even with a former MSI winner in Luka “Perkz” Perković manning the mid lane. The team is 1-5, and while Cloud9 are not fully eliminated yet, making it to the next round would require a couple of losses from European representative MAD Lions losses and at least three victories from Cloud9.

Even if Cloud9 beat underdog Pentanet.GG in their matchup Monday, they’ll still have to take out MAD themselves and either PSG Talon or Royal Never Give Up, or both, in the three remaining Rumble stage matches for the LCS squad.

Perkz, considered the best European mid laner of all time, has been in tough positions before, but a 1-5 record is a bit beyond his 1-2 power spike. Cloud9 can do it, and Perkz claims his team is ready to fight for it, but don’t get hurt by hope.
