OWL is entering its third week of the 2020 season, and this time teams are heading to Washington D.C. to compete. Here are some of the top games to watch, and which players to keep an eye on.

New York Excelsior vs. Philadelphia Fusion

This is the first match of week three, and it will probably also be the best. New York started the OWL season by winning both of their games at their homestand on opening weekend. They took down the London Spitfire 3-1 and then beat the Boston Uprising 3-0. Philadelphia had a similar opening week, beating the Washington Justice 3-1 and the Florida Mayhem 3-0.

These two 2-0 teams will face off to start the weekend. The players to watch in this match are Philly’s Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee, who leads the league in all-time damage dealt, and the rising star for New York, Seung-jun “WhoRU” Lee. IF WhoRU can step up and the Excelsior can shut Carpe down, there’s a very good chance that they will take the match.

Boston Uprising vs. Houston Outlaws

These are two of the worst teams in the OWL so far, so it should be fun to see how this matchup plays out. Houston lost both of its opening matches in Philly without taking a single map off the Washington Justice or the Florida Mayhem. Boston lost its opening matchup 0-3 against New York.

Boston’s biggest signing this offseason was Sang-min “Myunbong” Seo, a support player. The Outlaws have a number of notable players, but they most notably signed Tae-hong “Mek0” Kim this offseason. Houston is probably expected to win this match, but their abysmal play in Philly should give Boston fans some hope.

Toronto Defiant vs. Philadelphia Fusion

The Toronto Defiant started their season with a 3-1 victory over the Paris Eternal. They looked shaky on the first map of the match, losing Lijiang Tower, but they got it together after that and looked dominant. Depending on whether Philly takes their match against New York, both of these teams have a chance to emerge undefeated this weekend.

Carpe is always the Philly player to watch since he is one of the best in the game. Meanwhile, Lane “Surefour” Roberts is the player to watch for Toronto. He left the Los Angeles Gladiators after two seasons to represent his home country in Toronto. He has high expectations there, and going up against Carpe will be his first big test.
