Week 14 of the Overwatch League (OWL) is in the books, which means we have another weekend’s worth of games to look at. This weekend, we got a look at the new Vancouver Titans roster. We also saw what the Washington Justice might look like without Corey “Corey” Nigra, and of course another look at a red-hot Philadelphia Fusion team. Here’s what we can take away from the weekend.

Is Philly the best team in the OWL?

The Philadelphia Fusion has been on a roll in the 2020 OWL season, with 11 wins now and only one loss. This weekend, they only had one match. They played against the Dallas Fuel and took the match 3-1. Their star Damage player, Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee, was back after a week off and got to play his signature Widowmaker. As of right now, Philly is alone in the number one spot on the standings, and they don’t look like they are going to cool down anytime soon.

Vancouver’s new roster falls twice

The 2020 OWL season has been one to forget so far for the Vancouver Titans. They lost their whole roster last week over internal issues. They had to sign a whole new roster of players to be ready to play this weekend, and the new roster didn’t look so hot. The Titans lost their first match 3-1 against the Washington Justice, who just lost their star player. They lost their second match 3-0 against the Florida Mayhem. Their new roster is going to need some time to practice and improve.

Other notable takeaways

The Seoul Dynasty fell to 3-3 in recent weeks but managed to take a close match from the red hot Shanghai Dragons. They won the match 3-2, and improve to 4-3 on the year. Shanghai won their second game of the weekend against the Hangzhou Spark and is now 10-2.

The New York Excelsior dropped their match against the Guangzhou Charge, which was slightly shocking. The London Spitfire beat the Chengdu Hunters in their first week back. The San Francisco Shock stays hot, taking down the Toronto Defiant, and the Houston Outlaws’ struggles continue as they lose to the Atlanta Reign.

Week 15 will feature more games for the teams that haven’t played as much in the OWL 2020 season due to the coronavirus. These include the Vancouver Titans and the London Spitfire. It should be another exciting weekend as we see the season progress!
