The Overwatch League has added a couple new faces to their on-air talent for 2019. This year, give a warm welcome to Seth “Achilios” King and Wolf “Wolf” Schröder to the Overwatch League casting team.

Last year, the Overwatch League said goodbye to Jonathan “Reinforce” Larsson and Alberto “Crumbz” Rengifo. Both were on the caster team in 2018, but unfortunately, they were not signed onto the new team for 2019. There was a pretty big uproar when Reinforce would announce that he wasn’t extended through the new year. However, it seems like all is fine now with Reinforce and his casting situation. He took to Twitter to say that although he “won’t “officially” be part of the talent team this year, [he] will make some appearances in front of the camera throughout the season”. Now, let’s move on and meet the two new members of the casting team!

Welcome Achilios and Wolf!

They may be new to the Overwatch League, but both Achilios and Wolf are veterans of the casting world. For example, Wolf has been casting Overwatch over in South Korea since 2017. He has cast the Overwatch World Cup, Overwatch Contenders and the WEGL Overwatch Invitational. He also helped cast several Starcraft II tournaments as well. As a result, he should have no problems sliding into the casting role for the OWL. Having already cast the fast-paced, aggressive gameplay of the Contenders is Korea, he should be a great analyst to help people understand certain compositions and strategies.

As for Achilios, he has also been a caster for a long time. He would move to South Korea three years ago, where he would begin working with OGN. He became known as a caster of League of Legends in the LCK. However, he would quickly become entangled in the rapidly-growing world of Overwatch. Starting with IEM Gyeonggi in 2016, he would continue to cast Overwatch at tournaments like APEX, the Overwatch World Cup, and most recently, the Overwatch Contenders. He will bring his experiences as a caster of League of Legends and Contenders to the league.

All in all, the two new boys on the block should bring good insight and some hyped plays for the new season.

The Overwatch League Cast Returns!

Meanwhile, the rest of 2018’s on-air talent will be making a return for the second season of the Overwatch League. Familiar faces like Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles, Erik “DoA” Lonnquist and Soe “Soe” Gschwind will be gracing the screens of thousands of people this year. These casters and analysts are just as important as the people on-stage. They provide viewers with friendly faces that will give them great analysis and explanations of the gameplay they’ve just watched. They also make the game easier to follow, especially when the action is ramping up at its peak. Finally, these wonderful people help hype the crowds up for one of the best esports scenes in the world.
