A new record set for Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 officially launched on Oct. 4, 2022. Despite a lot of server issues to due DDoS attacks and a slightly early launch, the game attracted a lot of players. Fans knew this due to the long queues they had to wait in to get into the game, going as high as 50,000 people. That was concurrent players, but as for the total players who have played Overwatch 2, that number is a lot higher.

In a recent post from BusinessWire, the game has seen over 25 million players join the fray across all consoles and PC. Along with that, the peak number of players for the game has already tripled the previous peak for the original Overwatch.

Specifically, they will get a free Reaper legendary skin and weapon charm simply as an apology for recent server issues. • First weekend: Starting Oct. 21 at 2 PM EST, ending Oct. 24 at 2 PM EST
  • Second weekend: Starting Oct. 28 at 2 PM EST, ending Oct. 31 at 2 PM EST
