Danish esports organization, North, has received a total makeover after all of its social media sites have gone dark. The organization has announced that they have “changed the way we look at branding, marketing, and sports.” Markus “Kjearbye” Kjærbye has resigned with the CSGO roster. Additionally, North has acquired a new Apex Legends squad.

Total makeover

The organization had all of its social media content taken down previously. This included YouTube, Twitter and Facebook posts. As suspected by the community, this was in preparation for a complete makeover of the organization, both structurally and cosmetically.

North has come out with a brand new logo and font, reminiscent of Norse mythology. The official North website, previously inaccessible, now shows a long statement announcing the changes titled, “Dawn of North”.

Alexander Pedersen, the CMO at North has stated that:

“It became obvious that we needed to focus on a few critical elements in the very foundation of the organization that has been built. So we have changed the way we look at branding, marketing, and sports.”

North has hired a performance coach, Christian Engell, to train with the athletes present on the organization. Previously, Engell has worked with the likes of pro football players Kasper Schmeichell and William Kvist.

On top of that, alterations to the marketing of the organization have been made, as Pedersen explained:

“We have made significant changes to the way marketing is done at North, both by increasing our budgets substantially but also by professionalizing the team doing brand-marketing,”

With such changes, it looks like North is getting ready for a fruitful 2020, and it is taking it very seriously.

Kjearbye extends his stay with North CSGO

In the announcement, the organization also revealed that Kjearbye will continue to be a part of the roster. Interestingly enough, the other players were not mentioned, but neither was there any mention of anyone departing from the CSGO team. For now, it should be expected that the core squad is on-board. The CSGO roster looks as follows:

  • Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye
  • René “cajunb” Borg
  • Philip “aizy” Aistrup
  • Jakob “JUGi” Hansen
  • Nicklas “gade” Gade
  • Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg (coach)

Apex Legends new team unveiled

North has additionally announced that a new North Apex squad will compete at Apex Legends Global series in 2020. The $3 million tournament will take place in the end of January. The trio of new players consists of:

  • Can “Taisheen” Öztürk
  • Mikkel “mande” Hestbeck
  • Dan “rpr” Ušić

The trio will compete at Apex Legends Global series which will feature, “twelve global live events.”

The announcement also stated that the organization is looking to expand into other esport titles this year. Which esports they may be considering have yet to be revealed.
