The New York Subliners have announced a new addition to their roster for the 2022 Call of Duty League season. As previously leaked, the Subliners are signing Travis “Neptune” McCloud, previously of the Florida Mutineers. New York also announced the resigning of James “Clayster” Eubanks and Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez earlier in the week.
Neptune played his entire rookie season with the Mutineers in 2021. Despite struggling early on, the SMG slayer turned in a nice finish, often carrying Florida in Hardpoint and Search and Destroy. While Florida didn’t have the season they wanted, Neptune was an integral part of their success.
He now takes his talents to New York to form one of the deadliest SMG duos with fellow second-year player HyDra.

On paper, this move makes the most sense for New York. They recently saw the departure of one of their SMG players from 2021 in Obaid “Asim” Asim. With Florida looking to go another direction in 2022, the path to New York was perfectly clear for Neptune.
His play in 2021 closely resembled that of his new duo, HyDra. He singlehandedly took over matches with his AK74u, chaining kills together left and right. In the CDL, he’s more considered a slayer, as his kill/death ratio often reflected. It will be interesting to see how New York utilizes the two SMG slayers in HyDra and Neptune.
Asim played with HyDra last season but did more of the unnoticed dirty work that allowed the French phenom to slay out so successfully. Perhaps Neptune and HyDra now will share some of those roles that Asim did so well.
Regardless, New York has a formidable roster lined up for 2022. They’ve yet to announce the signing of Ian “Crimsix” Porter, which was leaked a while back, but once they do reveal who they’ve signed their lineup will be set.
