Another round of Call of Duty League players and coaches have announced their free agency for the upcoming 2023 season. After several teams chose to not exercise team options on players, namely NYSL, Toronto Ultra, Minnesota ROKKR, and Boston Breach, additional players came forward to announce they are free agents as well. The current additions include LAG’s Pierce “Gunless” Hillman, Florida’s Mike “MajorManiak” Szymaniak, Paris’ Jonathan “John” Perez and Tom “GRVTY” Malin, and NYSL analyst JP Krez.
The market for CDL free agents continues to grow and gain top talent. This is all coming after Sunday, Aug. 14, which was the last day teams had to exercise team options on players with 1+1 contracts. Teams and players must wait until Aug. 22 to sign any new deal, however, so no official news will come until then. Still, the talent that’s hitting the market is worth discussing in the meantime.
Gunless is arguably the biggest name player to come from the new crop of CDL free agents. He’s a multi-game champion, and was a part of the LA Guerrillas’ revamped roster for the start of 2022. However, halfway through the season, stomach issues forced him out of the lineup. Of course, this led to the promotion of Kris “Spart” Cervantez and a Major II victory for LAG. Gunless performed decently for chunks of the season, and should be able to land another starting spot elsewhere.
Well then I was gonna wait a little bit but nvm I guess F/A for the next season I got choke slammed this year by health conditions and somehow was doing the best while throwing up every other day and playing on straight water if that don’t show the grit I got idk what will

MajorManiak is also a free agent after a rocky 2022 season. MajorManiak was traded from Minnesota to Florida before Major IV, and didn’t perform the best on a dysfunctional Mutineers squad with three AR players already there. It is worth noting that MajorManiak had arguably his best season ever during Modern Warfare 2019, though; with the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 apparently playing like MW2019, MajorManiak could be a hot pickup this offseason.
unrestricted F/A for the 2023 season. if any organizations would like to discuss further reach out via DM or email in bio

Lastly from the players’ side, Paris Legion’s John has announced he’s a free agent, along with GRVTY. GRVTY had a much stronger season than John, who will struggle to find a spot on any roster. If teams are looking for young talent to build around, GRVTY could be a missing piece to a roster.
Unrestricted F/A going into next season. Hard worker and good vibes. 😎

On the coaching side of things, highly-regarded analyst, JP Krez, has announced he’s no longer with NYSL. JP’s reputation as one of the smartest coaches in COD precedes him; former NYSL player Paul “PaulEhx” Avila has said he should be a head coach in the league. JP Krez should have a few teams calling this offseason with his reputation preceding him.
Unrestricted Free Agent on 8/21, NY contract expiring.
My tools combined with my analysis bring substantial value to a team. Apart from focusing mainly on CoD, I am interested in dipping my foot into the analytics & strategy of other esports too.

This CDL offseason is still just heating up, and more roster news should be coming down the pipeline over the next few days.
