Esports organizer and production company ESL has announced an extension of its partnership with Micro-Star International (MSI). The Taiwanese technology manufacturer will become the official gaming partner for Season 11 and 12 of ESL Pro League’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) events.

MSI and ESL Pro League

“Our continued partnership with MSI has allowed players and fans at ESL tournaments to experience esports in unprecedented ways,” said Paul Brewer, senior vice president of brand partnerships at ESL, in a release. “Onsite activations like the Mystery Box Segment and MSI Gaming Arena have engaged fans online and at past competitions, and we’re looking forward to bringing these experiences to ESL Pro League Season 11 and 12.”

Through this partnership, MSI will provide gaming hardware, monitors, PCS, and laptops for Season 11 and 12 of ESL Pro League events. This will also include the motherboards and graphic cards used inside the PCs on stage. The two brands will collaborate on live brand activations and “engaging onsite activities.”

One of these activities is the Mystery Box Segment, which features ESL talent quizzing audience members with trivia questions. Those that answer the questions correctly will receive a mystery box with MSI-branded items like motherboards, graphic cards, and more.

Brand activations and live events

“It has been amazing to partner with ESL,” added Sam Chern, vice president of marketing at MSI. “Our extended partnership in 2020 guarantees global players not merely another year of world-class gaming events but also incredible gamer-driven innovations that will reshape their gaming experiences.”

In addition, the MSI Gaming Arena will return with the ESL Pro League partnership. Teams from North America and Europe, along with the Asia Pacific (APAC) and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will battle it out for qualification spots. Four teams will be chosen from this initial event to compete at the MSI Gaming Arena Grand Finals during the Season 12 ESL Pro League Finals. This event will be livestreamed on MSI’s social media accounts and website.
