The Boston Uprising announced today via their Twitter that they are releasing Walid “Mouffin” Bassal. This announcement comes after the sexual misconduct allegations Twitch Streamer KhaleesiBB made against the Overwatch League player earlier this week.
The accusation against Mouffin
On March 26, game developer @itsFODDER made a tweet stating that an Overwatch player was “preying on kids”. The next day, KhaleesiBB posted a TwitLonger about what Mouffin had done. She and Mouffin were reportedly in a relationship until she found out he had asked girls for inappropriate pictures. Some of these girls were allegedly under 18.
Apparently there is another adult player in OWL preying on kids. Their team apparently knows about it. I'll let the person who said they were planning on leaking this say it first. If they don't say it within the next 24 hours and decide to go back on it, I'll publicize it.

KhaleesiBB stated that the women wanted to remain anonymous, but she did reveal some of the direct messages between Mouffin and a victim. She also described him as being aggressive with women.
After investigating further into the situation, the Boston Uprising have now let the tank player go. This is the second player that the Uprising has released due to sexual misconduct involving minors.

Other predators in the Overwatch League
Khaleesi also states that Mouffin isn’t the only sexual predator in the Overwatch League. “There is [sic] plenty of popular Overwatch community members doing very similar things,” she said. “Mouffin isn’t even close to being the only predator in the scene, but there is [sic] so many victims scared for either their safety or reputation that very rarely do these things get brought into the light.”
This is an ominous message by the streamer. It seems like it’s only a matter of time until more women come out against other players. As of right now, the Boston Uprising has come out strongly against this type of behavior. It is likely that other teams will do the same if women accuse their players.
The Uprising will move forward with the rest of their roster for the time being, but they do not have any games this weekend.
