The past weekend’s PC beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer gave some fans their first taste of the game. While the PC version certainly had some issues, it seems like a majority of players at least had a moderately enjoyable time with the beta. This includes data miners, who most likely didn’t play the beta, but instead combed through the game files to find future content for MW2. As a part of this data mining, some leakers were able to find evidence of all weapon camo challenges in Modern Warfare 2.

Since the early days of Call of Duty, players have been able to unlock different camos for their weapons by completing a set of challenges. For multiple years, these challenges mainly consisted of simply getting 100 headshots with a weapon and then completing five other challenges to ultimately earn Gold camo for a weapon. However, in Modern Warfare 2019, Infinity Ward went against the grain and implemented a new weapon camo challenge system. Players could unlock 100 total camos for each weapon, with 10 total challenges available to complete.

According to data miners, that system isn’t going anywhere in Modern Warfare 2. One data miner was able to seemingly find what each weapon category’s camo challenges will consist of. Below, players can see those challenges for each weapon category.

Some of these challenges are being brought back from previous games while some challenges are new. For example, we’ve never seen the “stance change” challenge to unlock a camo. As with any leak, players should take this information with a grain of salt, as we only have one source relaying these camo challenges as of right now. Still, we should hear more about the camo challenges in Modern Warfare 2 closer to the game’s launch on Oct. 28.
