Rejoice, Overwatch fans, because it’s that time of year again: time for the Overwatch World Cup! Much like the Olympics, the OWWC features some of the world’s best players competing to make their home country proud. Many teams have already announced their rosters, including Canada, Finland, Germany, Australia, and more. But for the majority of Overwatch‘s fanbase, they are looking at one roster in particular: the United States of America.
On July 29, the coaches and staff for the USA team finally announced their 12 man roster via Twitter. The tryouts were between June 24 and July 10 with five different teams. To participate, players were invited by the United States committee. Every player selected to represent the United States is also on an Overwatch League team. Three of those players also have previous experience in the World Cup.
We know you've been waiting, finally it's time.

Team USA has yet to announce who their main seven will be, but it is clear that the current twelve are full of talent and passion for both Overwatch and their country. Some have even been teammates in the past. It will be interesting to see if their old synergy will come through.
Who are the coaches?
Additionally, Team USA also has very experienced and skilled staff. Leading the charge is Dallas Fuel’s own Aaron “Aero” Atkins. Following his lead are Harsha Bandi from the Vancouver Titans and Junkbuck from the San Francisco Shock. As for the General Manager, it is Annalynn, who is also the Director of Social Media for Los Angeles Gladiators. For their art department, Florida Mayhem graphic designer Anthony is their go-to guy.
Finally, we have USA Community Lead FreshNuts on the internet. They are also the channel manager and video editor for Atlanta Reign streamer Daniel “Dafran” Francesca. To stay updated with the team, you can follow their Twitter. And don’t forget to tune in to the Overwatch World Cup this fall!
