As previously announced by Riot Games, VALORANT Episode 4 Act 2 has brought with it a huge Yoru rework. The dimension-drifting Duelist has struggled to be a viable pick lately, and developers announced towards the end of 2021 they were looking into options to make his kit more useful.

Episode 4 Act 2 is now live and the Yoru rework is officially available to be played. Here’s everything you need to know about his new kit.

Fakeout is now a Decoy

Yoru’s Fakeout ability, mapped to the C key by default, is no longer just the sound of footsteps. Instead, it will now be a full-on decoy copy of Yoru that runs forward in a straight line. The ability now only has one charge instead of two. The decoy Yoru will have 150 HP and be indistinguishable from regular Yoru to enemies. Allies, however, will be able to tell that it is a decoy.

You can right click to place a stationary marker for the decoy. Right clicking again will send the decoy running forward. Upon taking damage from an enemy, the decoy will wind up, turn towards the enemy that damaged it, and explode after a short delay. This will send out a flash in a cone shape in front of the decoy.

Gatecrash now has a fake teleport

Yoru’s signature ability, Gatecrash, now has two charges. The second charge can be purchased for 200 credits. It will no longer have a cooldown; instead, it will operate on a two-kill reset, much like Jett’s Tailwind.

Gatecrash’s teleport beacon now moves faster and is less audible to enemies around it. Teleport can now be faked by pressing F while hovering over the beacon. This will play audio and portal visuals that are identical to a real teleport. A fake teleport will also create a small decal on the floor that lasts for 30 seconds.

Yoru can now cast utility in Dimensional Drift

Dimensional Drift, Yoru’s Ultimate ability, will now last 10 seconds instead of the previous eight. He will no longer be revealed to enemies and can cast all utility while in his ultimate. His footsteps can, however, still be heard within 15 meters of his location. There will now be a cast delay and the unequip delay time has been increased from 0.6 to 1.2 seconds to account for the changes.
