E3 2018 kicked off today, and EA Sports unveiled significant news on their upcoming games during EA Play 2018. As the teaser earlier this week had promised, EA provided updates on their various sports titles, Battlefield V, Anthem, and more! Below we’ve listed all of the updates that were announced from this year’s EA Play 2018.

Anthem

EA unveiled a brand new game during today’s EA Play 2018 live stream. Set to be BioWare’s rival to Destiny, Anthem is set in a future where humanity lives in cities that are protected by freelancers who wear suits known as “Javelin” mech suits.” There are four types of suits in the game: Ranger, Colossus, Interceptor, and Storm. While performing a mission, players can switch between all four suits. Players can customize their suits as well. The goal of the game is to defend your city and stop an unknown source from using a new weapon fueled with poison. The game will come out in February 2019.

Battlefield V

EA’s World War II shooter game recently unveiled that the new edition of Battlefield will feature a new multiplayer battle royale mode. Players will be able to complete missions in single player mode under “War Stories,” highlighting smaller battles in history. Players will also be able to travel to France and Norway. EA also revealed during EA Play 2018 that the game would feature a female character, which caused some controversy from some fans. The game will feature on EA Access Trial on October 11th. A standard edition of the game will be released on October 16th, with a deluxe copy coming three days later, on the 19th.

The classic PC strategy game is coming back to life, this time via smartphones. EA revealed during today’s EA Play 2018 that the game will feature as an app on Android and iOS devices. Rivals allows players to control their own military units. Players can then send their units into battle against enemies, with the goal being to take control of other territories. Android users can already download a trial of the game, while Apple users can sign up for registration. The game is set to release later this year.

EA Origin Access
