After a brief downtime, the latest patch for Magic: The Gathering Arena went live just after 11:30 a.m. EST on May 2, 2019. Notable inclusions in the update are several new card styles in the store, and an updated Pteramander spell counter.

New card styles in Magic: The Gathering Arena

  • Draft Bundles: 4000 gold each. One bundle for each color, including new card styles for some of the most iconic War of the Spark cards you may come across while drafting the new set.
    • White: Prison Realm, Law-Rune Enforcer, Trusted Pegasus
    • Blue: Rescuer Sphinx, Aven Eternal, Tamiyo’s Epiphany
    • Black: Eternal Taskmaster, Ob Nixilis’s Cruelty, Herald of the Dreadhorde
    • Red: Cyclops Electromancer, Spellgorger Weird, Jaya’s Greeting
    • Green: Challenger Troll, Bloom Hulk, Giant Growth
  • Gatewatch’s Triumph Bundle: 1000 gems. Includes a new style for each of the cards in the new Triumph cycle from War of the Spark (Gideon’s Triumph, Jace’s Triumph, Liliana’s Triumph, Chandra’s Triumph, Nissa’s Triumph).
  • Bolas Bundle: 4000 gems. Includes Bolas sleeves, avatar, and several new card styles.
    • Card Styles: Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God, Bolas’s Citadel, Commence the Endgame, and Deliver Until Evil card style.
    • Nicol Bolas Avatar
    • Nicol Bolas, Exquisite Card Sleeve
  • Additional Card Styles: This update made a whole list of card styles available for individual purchase as well. See the patch notes at the bottom of this article for more details.

Pteramander UI update

By far the most functional improvement included in this patch is the addition of a spell counter to Pteramander while on the field, as seen here:

Mono-blue players of Magic: The Gathering Arena, rejoice. Now, while Pteramander is in play, you can easily keep track of the number of instant and sorceries in your graveyard without opening it up and scrolling through it turn after turn. Just subtract the displayed number on Pteramander from your lands in play, and you have the Adapt cost.

Get out there and enjoy the latest changes!
