In less than a week, the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) series will return for the 2020 Summer Split. To spice things up, the LEC broadcast team released a fun promotional video bragging about their league. Titled “Our League is f****** great!,” the casters give you plenty of reasons to not miss the upcoming Summer Split. From dank memes to good content and the best players, the LEC has it all. The video ends with an epic dance party, featuring all broadcast members showing off their moves dancing to the fan-favorite “I want the LEC back!” song.

A return to studio broadcasts

Due to the unfortunate situation with the COVID-19 crisis, the LEC had to abandon studio broadcasts in the middle of the Spring Split. While the split still played out remotely, it simply wasn’t possible to keep the production quality standards while working from home.

However, as recently announced by the organizers, the production will be making a return to the LEC studio in Berlin. An important thing to note here is that while the games will be broadcast from the studio, the teams will still play remotely from their own facilities. Depending on how the regulations concerning COVID change, there is a possibility of the teams returning to offline play in later parts of the split. Unfortunately, as we have already gotten used to with traditional sports, the games would be played without fans in the arena.

Everything’s on the line in the LEC Summer Split

With Riot Games changing the competitive format ahead of the 2020 season, the Summer Split is when it really matters. While points from spring will help teams get into the playoffs, they don’t directly impact Worlds seeding. The teams that place top 4 in the Summer Split playoffs will ultimately qualify for the League of Legends World Championship. And with everything on the line, we’re guaranteed to have a split worth remembering!

The LEC returns June 12 at 9 a.m. PST. Catch the action live on Twitch and don’t forget to stay in touch with Daily Esports for more LEC coverage!
