After the last two and a half years of little to no LAN events the esports scene, the League Championship Series plans to make the experience of the fans who attend the LCS finals in Houston, Texas more enjoyable by introducing Fan Fest activities, according to a tweet from the LCS commissioner Jackie Felling on Friday.

Besides the giveaways, there will be events such as a fan wall where fans can write messages sponsored by State Farm, a Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg-themed escape room sponsored by Verizon and Fastest Clear Time challenge with rewards such as 1TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD sponsored by Samsung. Fans will also have the chance to catch a live episode of Hotline League with Mark “MarkZ” Zimmerman and Travis Gafford on Saturday and meet with Tyler “Tyler1” Steinmann at his fan signing on Sunday.

There will also be Streamer Showmatch on Sunday featuring former professional players such as William “Meteos” Hartman and Yilliang “Doublelift” Peng and streamers like QTCinderella, Ovilee May, Tyler1 and Nicki Taylor. The teams have not been decided yet, but the participants are locked in.

LCS teams will also host their own events, such as 100 Thieves Den where fans can join challenges to earn event-exclusive artifacts, Counter Logic Gaming’s Aim Challenge or life size chess versus a Grandmaster to win SSDs or Team Liquid’s raffle for a signed jersey and backstage tour, not to mention their Make-A-Sign event where you can mark down your place in LCS history (or use it to cheer for TSM).

The beauty of esports lies in its power to replace your world and its worries, anger or fears, even for the shortest of moments. I want to make this power available to all who reach for it.
