The final voting phase for Smash Ultimate Summit 4 ended Friday as Karthik “Lavish” Ganapathy and Troy “BassMage” Waters made it into the invitational event. The final roster for the tournament is now set.
Lavish ended the voting period with over 150,000 votes. Nearly 70,000 of these votes came within the last 20 seconds of voting. As a result, he was able to qualify for Summit despite seeming poised for elimination up until the very end.

Lavish and BassMage beat out a pair of higher ranked players in order to get into Smash Ultimate Summit 4. The eliminated players, Tyler “Marss” Martins and Luis “Lui$” Oceguera Ramos, both appeared in the A Tier of the North American PGRUContenders list. Conversely, neither Lavish nor BassMage are ranked on the list. In any case, both Marss and Lui$ will have the chance to attend Summit as VIPs.

While Lavish will be the underdog at Smash Ultimate Summit 4, he has proven to have plenty of upset potential. He rose to national prominence following Low Tide City 2021, where he upset S-Tier player Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan en route to 49th place.
In recent months, BassMage has confirmed his status as the best Jigglypuff main in the world. His worst placement in 2021 was 49th at Riptide and, even there, he picked up an impressive win over Kola. Going into Ultimate Summit 4, BassMage also boasts victories over Lui$, William “Glutonny” Belaid, Spencer “Scend” Garner and Michael “Tilde” Tedesco.
Lavish and BassMage were the final additions to the Smash Ultimate Summit 4 lineup. The following 16 players will compete at the tournament from March 3-6:
