The latest Hearthstone patch features the Murder at Castle Nathria Rewards Track, Battlegrounds emotes and more, Blizzard announced on Monday.
Murder at Castle Nathria Rewards Track
Hearthstone patch 24.0 will arrive on July 26; it will set the stage for the Murder at Castle Nathria expansion through a new Rewards Track. The free Rewards Track will include items such as in-game gold, card packs, the Sir Finley Epic Mercenary card and the Revendreth card back.
Other notable items will be the Sire Denathrius card, Maze Guide Location cards and other legendaries. The full list of items is available via Blizzard’s Rewards Track announcement.
As for the Murder at Castle Nathria Tavern Pass, it will be available for purchase with the launch of the expansion on Aug. 2.
In addition to 135 new cards, the new expansion will feature Murloc Holmes and Decimator Olgra as the set’s diamond cards. Murloc Holmes will be obtainable via buying the Tavern Pass and claiming it on the Rewards Track. Decimator Olgra can be obtained by completing the Murder at Castle Nathria Legendary Collector achievement that will involve owning 25 legendary cards from the new expansion.
Meanwhile, after players complete the first 90 levels of the Rewards Track with a Tavern Pass, they will get the Venthyr Coin. The Castle Nathria Coin will be obtainable by having 135 unique Murder at Castle Nathria cards.
Hearthstone Battlegrounds emotes
Players will get access to base Hearthstone Battlegrounds emotes with patch 24.0. The Mystery Mayhem emotes will be available one week after the upcoming expansion’s launch.
Alongside the new Heistbaron Togwaggle hero, Hearthstone Battlegrounds will allow The Lich King, Sneed and Edwin VanCleef to target friendly minions and ones in Bob’s Tavern. Moreover, minion updates include a buff to Red Whelp plus an Evolving Chromawing rework.
Mercenaries C’Thun event
For a limited time, the Hearthstone Mercenaries game mode will have an event dedicated to C’Thun. The Old God shenanigans will kick off on Aug. 16 and have 10 special tasks for players to complete. Participants have until Sept. 6 to complete the tasks for the C’Thun Mercenary, a random Golden C’Thun Portrait, the Diamond C’Thun Portrait plus 700 Mercenary Coins.
In addition to C’Thun, another new Mercenaries character on the way is Sir Finley. The Murloc will be free as part of the Murder at Castle Nathria Rewards Track; his portraits will be available via the Tavern Pass.
As for the Mercenaries themselves, they include changes to characters such as Brann Bronzebeard, Elise Starseeker, Reno Jackson and Wrathion. The full list of Mercenaries and their changes can be viewed in detail via Blizzard’s website.
Duels updates and more
For the Duels game mode, the current season will end on July 26. This means the ratings will reset and any ongoing runs will conclude. Meanwhile, Darius Crowley will be available as a new hero in this game mode on July 26 alongside some new passive treasures, card pool changes and balance updates.
“The Witchwood will be fully usable in Duels on July 26,” Blizzard also revealed. “Murder at Castle Nathria will be added to card buckets and Discover effects with Patch 24.0 on July 26, but those cards will not be able to be used in initial deckbuilding until they are released on August 2.”
As for Arena players, the game mode will have current runs end on Aug. 2. The updated sets will include Core, One Night in Karazhan, Saviors of Uldum, Rastakahn’s Rumble, Scholomance Academy, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire and Murder at Castle Nathria.
