The London Royal Ravens might have been the number one seed at CDL Major IV, but now they’re the second team to exit the event. After dropping their winner’s bracket series against the Toronto Ultra yesterday, London matched up against Major II champion LA Guerrillas today in the loser’s bracket. Despite holding the heavy advantage, the Ravens weren’t able to defeat LA and fail to win a map at Major IV. The Guerrillas, on the other hand, are moving on in the loser’s bracket but need to keep winning matches if they want a chance at making the Champs bracket.
Currently, LAG sits five points behind the Florida Mutineers for the eighth spot in the standings. LA at least needs to defeat Atlanta FaZe later tonight to have a chance at cracking the top eight. Florida will have at least two more chances to win a match and earn points, though, so the Guerrillas need to make a deep run to ensure they make Champs.
For now, though, they can enjoy the fact that they knocked out the number one seed at Major IV.
Ravens flail on LAN with loss to LA Guerrillas
Like almost every other match at Major IV, this series went the distance with five games. The two rosters went blow for blow, with LA winning the first Hardpoint and London taking the following Search and Destroy. Then, something incredible happened; London won a map of Control. Previously, they had lost their last 10 Control maps dating back to Major III. This time, though, they emerged victorious on Berlin against LAG to go up 2-1 in the series.
However, thanks to the work of Travis “Neptune” McCloud and Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat, that would be London’s last map win of the tournament. Neptune went off on Berlin Hardpoint in map four, leading his team with 30+ kills, while SlasheR dominated the map five S&D on Tuscan.

The Guerrillas need to figure out their Control strategy if they want a chance at defeating Atlanta FaZe. London, on the other hand, will head back to North Carolina and get ready for their Champs run. The Ravens secured their spot at Champs yesterday but their seeding is far from set.
