The first official rostermania domino for the 2023 Call of Duty League season has fallen. While OpTic Texas technically got the ball rolling, the LA Guerrillas have announced the first official move during the actual rostermania period. Earlier today, the organization revealed its complete starting roster for the 2023 season and it includes one key addition.

The starting roster for the LA Guerrillas in 2023 will be:

  • Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson
  • Cuyler “Huke” Garland
  • Kris “Spart” Cervantez
  • Travis “Neptune” McCloud

Los Angeles Guerrillas confirm roster rumors

This is the rumored roster that surfaced a few days ago after Arcitys announced he was a restricted free agent from Atlanta FaZe. After two years on FaZe, Arcitys was seemingly let go from the roster. According to various reports and even Arcitys himself, it was not his decision to leave the Atlanta roster. Arcitys said on Twitter that he felt he was dropped because Atlanta had no trust in each other this past season. However, he also admits his own faults and partially understands why the change was made.

After the entire OpTic Texas debacle that occurred last week, Arcitys announced his free agency, which many felt was in direct correlation to the announcement that Texas’ Brandon “Dashy” Otell was also a restricted free agent. While some fans thought that an Arcitys-for-Dashy swap was in the cards, OpTic got the band back together and kept Dashy. However, this apparently left Atlanta FaZe out in the cold, as the team had already let Arcitys know he was a restricted free agent. This move paved the way for Arcitys to join the LA Guerrillas.

It’s unclear exactly how Arcitys made his way to LA. Since he was a restricted free agent, the Guerrillas had to pay a buyout fee for Arcitys. However, the two teams also could have traded players. Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat was resigned by LA in the offseason but is currently not on the team’s starting roster. This could mean that LA traded SlasheR to Atlanta for Arcitys. That move is not yet confirmed, but it seems like the most likely outcome at this point.

As for the rest of the Guerrillas’ roster, the organization has chosen to run it back with three-fourths of its squad from the end of 2022. Spart will run the flex while Neptune and Huke make up the SMG duo. Arcitys will run the main AR like he’s wanted to do for the past few years.

Time will tell if this roster changes the LA Guerrillas’ fortune in the Call of Duty League. You can see when this roster will first be in action by looking at the leaked schedule for the 2023 CDL season.
