Chinese esports organization Suning has partnered with the international fast-food chain KFC and China-based automobile brand Roewe before the start of the League of Legends World Championship finals. These sponsors will be joining Suning’s long list of partnered brands including Nvidia, Logitech, and Huya.

Although the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, this is a major sponsorship for an esports team. In previous years, the fast-food chain had partnered with the LPL team Royal Never Give Up. The food chain had also shown support for last year’s World Championship winners by having them promote its “K Coffee” brand. Overall, KFC is very familiar with the LPL and League of Legends esports, so this partnership comes as no surprise. They had also recently promoted the fast-food chain through a post on their Weibo profile.

A Suning partnership with SAIC Motor

Chinese automobile maker SAIC Motor, together with its Roewe brand, will also join KFC in this sponsorship. It will also be Roewe’s first time entering the esports industry as a partner. Roewe was previously involved in traditional sports, specifically with the Chinese Super League soccer club. This deal is a major addition in League of Legends esports, and it follows right behind other team partners such as Mercedes Benz and Kia Motors.

At the moment, there’s no further detail regarding logo placement on Suning’s jerseys. Regardless, fans may see more KFC giveaways and advertisements between Suning’s streams and social media as they continue to expand their commercial portfolio.

Riot Games has scheduled Suning Gaming to play against DAMWON for a chance to win the Summoner’s Cup this Saturday, October 31. The LPL team had recently defeated Top Esports and JD Gaming as they continue to show determination and perseverance during this year’s World. Now, they will go head-to-head as they attempt to bring home the trophy, representing the entire LPL region. This 2020 Worlds finals will take place in Shanghai, beginning at 6 AM ET.
