The new weapons from the Season 5 Battle Pass in Call of Duty: Warzone have yet to make a significant impact on the meta. While the EX1 was certainly popular when it was first released — thanks to its laser beam firing mechanic — it’s not nearly as strong as other assault rifles in the game.
That leaves the RA 225, which has a much stronger chance of becoming a meta weapon throughout Season 5. In fact, Warzone YouTuber JGOD has identified the RA 225 as a top-tier SMG in Warzone, and revealed what he believes to be the best loadout for the gun.
The RA 225 is a small, fast-firing submachine gun that can deal a ton of damage at close range. However, due to its low damage, many players initially didn’t see the RA 225 becoming a meta weapon. After some digging with its attachments, though, JGOD has discovered a loadout for the RA 225 that could make it one of the best SMGs in Warzone.

JGOD’s RA 225 loadout in Warzone
The main issue that JGOD has found with the RA 225 is its overall damage in each magazine. However, even with that drawback, the YouTuber still said “this thing [RA 225] does definitely melt.” The gun’s prowess in close-range can be directly attributed to its loadout, which JGOD has built for these types of engagements.
- Muzzle: Recoil Booster
- Barrel: Urban Rapid 11″
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: Moravec MB
- Underbarrel: Mark VI Skeletal
- Magazine: 9mm 55 Round Mags or 7.62 Gorenko 38 Round Mags
- Ammunition: Lengthened/Subsonic
- Rear Grip: Taped Grip
- Perk: Momentum or Sleight of Hand
- Perk 2: On-Hand
The two stipulations with this loadout lie in the magazine and the first Perk. JGOD said that the 9mm 55 Round Mags are ideal for Trios and Quads since there are more enemies to potentially shoot. With this large magazine, players won’t be reloading as much, so they can use the first Perk Momentum to increase their mobility. In Solos or Duos, players can use the 7.62 Gorenko 38 Round Mags as well as Sleight of Hand since they’ll be reloading more frequently with a smaller magazine.
It remains to be seen if the RA 225 can upstage the likes of the best SMG in Warzone, but this loadout gives it a great shot.
