James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 is coming to Rocket League as a playable battle-car, Psyonix announced on Wednesday.
In a fitting CGI trailer, Psyonix revealed the James Bond tie-in. The Aston Martin DB5 will sport the Octane hitbox and will include its own customization options, which can only be used by the licensed car. As usual, the car will not be able to be customized apart from its own included items.

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 — Rocket League’s 22nd licensed car
Rocket League’s licensed car library is growing to a large number. Not counting console exclusives — which include Super Mario, Metroid, Halo and Twisted Metal-themed cars — James Bond brings the total to 22. Some of these are, however, part of the same pack or franchise. These include a multitude of NASCAR vehicles, the Fast and the Furious pack and the several variant batmobiles.
James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 was not on many people’s radar. In hindsight, it was perhaps a fairly obvious option for a car-based game that is known for using cars from popular culture.
Customization differs per IP, with some cars restricting all items, and others restricting some. The James Bond Aston Martin DB5 will not allow a lot of Rocket League’s items to be equipped. The overlapping factor between all is that Rocket Boosts and Trails can always be customized. The Aston Martin will come with Silver Birch Paint Finish that “resembles the original color of the Aston Martin,” a unique Engine Audio, 007’s Aston Martin DB5 Wheels and a Reel Life Decal.
The bundle will only be available for a limited time and will set players back 1,100 credits; equal to $10. Additional James Bond items will be revealed later in the year. Those likely won’t be free, so players will look at either a new bundle at $10 plus again, or see the current bundle expand along with a price increase.
James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 will be available in Rocket League on July 29. More news on upcoming content, such as ranked Season 4, is expected in early Aug.
