VALORANT’s latest agent Neon hails from the Philippines and appears to be a direct rival to the agent with the highest mobility to date – Jett. With Neon centered around the ability to sprint and slide around the map, will she become the next Jett?
Neon may have similar abilities to Jett in terms of movement, but it is hard to call her the newest Jett. Jett’s ability to quickly dash out of certain situations gives her a much faster retreat than Neon’s sprinting ability. However, what Neon lacks in the ability to get away from situations quickly she makes up by being able to quickly rotate if needed. This allows her to move between sites rapidly. Jett, meanwhile, is confined to having just one dash, which can only be replenished if she gets two kills.
The same can be said for Neon who also has a sliding ability like Jett’s dash but much slower in comparison. To slide, Neon must already be sprinting with her “E” to unlock the ability to sprint which can be done by right-clicking on the mouse. Like Jett’s dash, Neon’s slide can be replenished after she gains two kills.
Jett versus Neon, who is better?
In the end, it comes down to playstyle preference. While Neon may be fast, she plays much different than Jett. Especially when using the Operator, Jett’s abilities allow her to reposition and set up at the beginning of rounds to catch her opponents off guard. Meanwhile, Neon leans more towards Phoenix’s playstyle with her ability to throw up two electricity walls when entering a site and her ability to concuss enemies.

If players are looking for an agent to position offensively and ensure they have the upper hand then Jett would be their go-to agent. However, if there are players out there looking for an upgrade to the pace of how VALORANT is played then they would potentially lean towards Neon. Her ability to easily rotate and slide into sites speeds up the pace of the game dramatically. Her ability to also throw up walls and concussions to enter a site makes her the perfect entry and defense agent.
