The Six Charlotte Major 2022 kicks off on Saturday in North Carolina’s Charlotte Convention Centre. The event will be the first Rainbow Six Siege major of the 2022 season, and it marks the return of LAN for Siege esports.

Format and teams at the Six Charlotte Major 2022

The Six Charlotte Major 2022 will feature 16 of the best teams from North America, Europe, Latin America and the Asia and Pacific region.

Below is a breakdown of teams at the event, based on region.

  • Europe: BDS Esport, Heroic, G2 Esports, LookingForOrg (ex-vitality players)
  • North America: Oxygen Esports, Astralis, DarkZero Esports, XSET
  • LATAM: Team Liquid, w7m esports, FURIA Esports, Team oNe eSports
  • APAC: Elevate, CYCLOPS athlete gaming, Dire Wolves, Chiefs Esports Club

All 16 teams will play in a group of four where they will compete in best-of-one double round-robin games. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. Moreover, the Playoffs will take place from May 20 to 22 with a single bracket elimination format.

Furthermore, teams that advance from the same group to the playoffs can’t be in the same bracket side. The Six Major Charlotte 2022 Grand Final will play out on May 22, with a best-of-five map and no map advantage for either side. Meanwhile, all matches played during the quarterfinals and the semifinals will use a best-of-three format.

With Six Invitational 2023 qualification points and Major champions up for grabs, there is a lot to fight for at the Six Charlotte Major. While NA’s TSM won the 2022 Six Invitational, LATAM teams still remain the ones to beat. The region won all the 2021 Six Majors and will look to continue the trend at Charlotte.

Where to watch
