Partway through the Lightfall campaign in Destiny 2, the quest Headlong has a particular puzzle that you need to solve before progressing. Here is a quick rundown on how to solve the Headlong puzzles in Destiny 2 Lightfall. These puzzles revolve around Vex enemies spawning, and the player has to defeat them in a particular order to progress.

The Headlong puzzles explained

First, a quick rundown of the quest these puzzles are on. Headlong is one of the final quests in the Lightfall campaign, focused on improving your character’s training with the new Strand subclass. While progressing through the quest, you’ll find these Vex locks with plenty of Harpy enemies in front of it. They won’t have regular names, which is key to this puzzle.

When you spot this area, above the locked wall, there will be orbs with lights above in a particular order. Some are glowing while others are dim, which when read from left to right, dictate what you have to kill and in what order.

The two kinds of Harpy enemies you have to focus on are the Cation Harpies and the Anion Harpies. The Cation Harpies glow very brightly in comparison to the Anion ones, and that reflects the glowing and dim lights above the locked wall. The goal is to kill the corresponding enemies in the order above the wall, from left to right.

First puzzle is a great example

For example, the first puzzle you come across has three lights above the locked door. The order is glowing, dim and glowing.

So, this means that you have to kill a Cation Harpy, then an Anion Harpy and end it off with another Cation Harpy. If you don’t kill them in that order, all enemies will despawn and respawn, giving you another opportunity to solve the puzzle. On top of that, the text on the bottom left will let you know when your kills are correct and incorrect, along with the lights above the door disappearing if you get the kills correct.
