How to skip the Alohomora Lock Picking Puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy

One of the more frustrating aspects of Hogwarts Legacy is coming across a locked door or chest and not being able to open it. Either the level of the lock is too high for your current version of Alohomora or you haven’t even unlocked the Unlocking Charm yet. However, if you are able to open the lock, then you still have to go through the song and dance of spinning the two dials so that the lock opens up. If you’re tired of solving these Alohomora puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy, there is an easy way to skip them so you can go right through the door or chest that’s locked.

This workaround doesn’t involve any glitches or exploits. However, players will have to go into their menu every time they want to skip an Alohomora puzzle. Allow us to explain more in-depth in the guide below.

Like many other features in Hogwarts Legacy, you are able to get past the Alohomora puzzles by switching the game’s difficulty level. If you switch to Story difficulty, an option will appear at the bottom of the lockpicking screen. This option will say “Auto Solve” and all you have to do is click the button that’s next to that option. Then, the puzzle will solve itself and allow you to open the door or chest in front of you.

Of course, this means you have to swap to and from Story difficulty every single time you want to auto solve a lockpicking puzzle. That can take longer than simply doing the puzzle yourself, but the puzzles can also get annoying if you have to continually complete them. In the end, it’s up to the player if they want to spend time swapping difficulty levels or completing another lockpicking puzzle.
