The Necromancer class has been one of the most popular classes in Diablo 4 since the game was released in the summer of 2023. While this class is well-known to many ARPG veterans, its mechanics can be slightly confusing to navigate, especially if you’re new to Diablo 4. For example, one of the main attributes of the Necromancer class in Diablo 4 is the ability to use skeletons to fight alongside you, but the way to raise those skeletons is difficult if you don’t what to do.

By default, you get access to four skeletons to start as a Necromancer. However, players can increase that number by wearing certain gear or using the Book of Dead to upgrade their skeletons. Players also get the ability to raise skeletons from the dead by default as well, as it’s a skill that players have on their skill bar from the get-go.

Although, the game does not do a fantastic job of telling you exactly how you can go about raising a skeleton army that will follow you around and fight for you. In this guide, we will be showcasing exactly how you can raise skeletons from the dead as a Necromancer in Diablo 4. Keep in mind, however, that we are basing this off the beta build of the game, so the process could change for the full launch in June.

Raising skeletons as a Necromancer in Diablo 4

As a Necromancer, you might notice that whenever you kill an enemy, their body does not disappear entirely. Instead, a dead enemy’s body will turn to a red and white ball of body parts surrounded by blood on the ground. There will be a red outline around this ball of body parts, which indicates that you can use it.

In order to raise a skeleton to fight alongside you, all you need to do is focus on that ball of body parts and then press the “Raise Skeleton” skill on the skill bar. As long as players aren’t at their maximum amount of skeletons, a skeleton will rise from the body parts and join your army.

You can see how many skeletons you currently have active by looking at the green number next to your Essence gauge. If one dies, you can raise another, but only after a certain amount of time has passed.
