There is a deep level of character customization in Hogwarts Legacy. From the initial character creator to the various changes you can make to your character in Hogsmeade, you likely won’t look the same as when you first started the game. However, the deepest level of customization comes in the gear system of Hogwarts Legacy, which allows players to equip six pieces of “armor” that provide them with different stat boosts and traits. Not only that but there is a full transmog system in Hogwarts Legacy, meaning players can change the appearance of any gear piece to one they have unlocked previously. With all of this customization, players are bound to miss something, and many players have likely glossed over the fact that you can toggle your hood in Hogwarts Legacy.

Toggling your hood in Hogwarts Legacy

Many players might not even think about the hood that is attached to many of the cloaks and robes that you find in the Wizarding World. We’re here to tell you that they do have a purpose, though. When you put up your hood, you are essentially replacing your headgear piece with your robe’s hood. Your headgear piece will still be equipped, but it won’t be shown on your character.

To put your hood up and down, all you need to do is hover over the Cloaks and Robes box in your gear inventory. Here, you will see an option that says “Hood On/Off.” To change it to either on or off, all you need to do is press Triangle/Y/Right-click while still hovering over the Cloaks and Robes box. This will make your character either put their hood up or down.

It’s a simple, yet effective way of changing things up when it comes to your aesthetic in Hogwarts Legacy. And now you know how to take full advantage of it.
