Set in the wizarding world long before Harry Potter’s arrival, the familiar faces fans have grown to love in the franchise are not seen in Hogwarts: Legacy. However, with the game’s extensive character customization features, players of Hogwarts: Legacy can recreate just about any character imaginable.

In this guide, we tell you all that you need to know on how to play as Severus Snape in Hogwarts: Legacy.

How to play as Snape in Hogwarts Legacy

Playing as Severus Snape in Hogwarts: Legacy is not as simple as choosing him as a readily available, playable character in the game. However, fans were quick to catch on to taking advantage of the game’s character customization feature. Players not only use it to recreate themselves to fulfill their own fantasies of being in the wizarding world but it can also be used to bring much-loved characters from the franchise into the game, like the Half-Blood Prince himself.

Character build guide for Severus Snape in Hogwarts Legacy character creator

Like every character build in the game, we’ll start off with its base. Select a male character, and choose which you find looks like the younger version of Snape best. Take a trip down memory lane and recall what the old professor looked like during his time as a student with Lily and James Potter when they were still around. We recommend either the fourth option or the twentieth option.

Once that’s done, take note of these selections and watch the former professor and headmaster come back to life:

  • Preset: Fourth option
  • Face shape: First option
  • Skin Color: First option
  • Complexion: First option
  • Hair Color: First option
  • Hairstyle: First option
  • Glasses: None

Don’t forget to explore the character creator in the game further and add more in-depth customizations. You can choose to either tweak Snape’s appearance a bit more to suit what you have in mind for your gameplay or stick as close to canon as possible. If such is the case, try the following settings:

  • Complexion: First option
  • Scars and Markings: None
  • Freckles and Moles: None
  • Eye Color: First option
  • Eyebrow Color: Drag the slider to the second to the last option
  • Eyebrow Shape: Second option
  • Tone: Voice One
  • Pitch: Drag the slider to the leftmost option

Although the settings above are as close to the younger version of Severus Snape in the films, you can make a few changes to totally rewrite his character for the game. As you finish your character build, choose the game difficulty, set the character name, and then his Dormitory. For the most realistic experience on a playthrough as Snape, choose Slytherin. Otherwise, you can select any other house using the Sorting Hat to change his fate this time around.

And that’s it on how you can play as Severus Snape in Hogwarts: Legacy. With a total of 43 main quests in the game, you can rewrite the fate of the former Defense Against The Dark Arts professor and Hogwarts headmaster.
