The Fortnite island has been invaded by an otherworldly race of aliens in Chapter 2 Season 7. This invasion may or may not pose a threat to the island but it’s also introduced some fascinating new content. This includes alien weapons, tons of new mechanics and items and various map changes. Also on that list, but not as readily apparent, are actual alien parasites that stick to players in an attempt to kill them.

These alien parasites are found all over the Fortnite map. While they won’t kill players immediately, they can quickly become a problem is they’re not dealt with properly. However, the way to get rid of these parasites isn’t spelled out in the game.

Getting rid of alien parasites in Fortnite Season 7

For starters, the alien parasites are both a blessing and a curse, depending on a player’s situation. Once an alien attaches itself to a player, it will take 40 HP. If a player is low on health, this can be a serious dilemma. However, the alien will also allow the player to run faster and jump higher while it’s attached.

Essentially, it’s a trade-off. Players can opt for the additional mobility if they’re full on health but it’s probably not a wise move for a player on low health. If a player wants to go about finding an alien parasite, they need only look around the map. They spawn in random locations in matches and will attach once a player gets near them.

For players looking to get rid of a parasite, they need to find one of three specific environmental features. In no order, these include fire, water or a prop. Once any one of these features is entered, the parasite will detach within a few seconds. So, if a player is by water, all they need to do is take a dip and the alien will go off to look for another head.
