One of the ultimate goals in any open-world title is to gain access to a complete armor set. Usually, holding all of the pieces to a specific armor set lets players take advantage of stronger stats and abilities when wearing all of the pieces at the same time. The same is true in God of War: Ragnarok, as the developers have yet again designed some incredible sets. Few of those sets can compare to the Dragon Scaled Armor Set, though, which just might be the most sought-after in God of War: Ragnarok.
As in God of War 2018, some of the armor sets simply look cooler on Kratos than others. The Dragon Scaled Armor Set is one of those, as it features a dark red colorway with lava on the belt and dragon teeth all along the armor. It’s a truly eye-catching armor set, and players might want to know just how far they have to go in Ragnarok in order to acquire it.
As a warning, there are light spoilers for God of War: Ragnarok in this guide, but they are required to mention to explain how to get the Dragon Scaled Armor Set.
Getting the Dragon Scaled Armor Set in God of War: Ragnarok
First and foremost, players will need to reach Vanaheim to unlock this set. More specifically, players will need to reach The Crater in Vanaheim. Here, players can begin undergoing Dragon Hunts, in which they will quite literally hunt down dragons to kill and loot them. The Dragon Scaled Armor Set becomes craftable once players complete their first Dragon Hunt in The Crater.
In total, there are nine Dragon Hunts players can optionally take on. All of them will need to be completed if players want to craft and upgrade the Dragon Scaled Armor Set. The full pieces to the Dragon Scaled Armor Set, their crafting recipe, and the Passive Ability for each piece are viewable below.
Dragon Scaled Breastplate
- Passive Ability: Blocks and Parries grant a buff of increasing Strength and Defense with each stack. Resets when damage is taken.
- Crafting Recipe: 1 Dragon Claw, 2 Dragon Tooth
Dragon Scaled Bracers
- Passive Ability: Increases all shield damage and successful Blocks and Parries now deal damage to nearby enemies.
- Crafting Recipe: 10 Dragon Tooth
Dragon Scaled Girdle
- Passive Ability: Increases all shield damage, and successful blocks or parries now deal damage to nearby enemies.
- Crafting Recipe: 10 Dragon Tooth
Upon crafting and equipping all of the pieces to the Dragon Scaled Armor Set, you will earn the Dragon Slayer Trophy. If you eventually want to change the look of the armor set but don’t want to lose the stats, you can upgrade the set to its max level of 9 and then Transmog the pieces.
