There are some Technical Machines (TMs) that are easy to find in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and others that are far more difficult to obtain. Usually, the harder-to-find TMs are what players want the most, as they will often be the most useful to their party. The move Belly Drum is one such move that players have been wondering how to learn. Belly Drum is a unique move in Scarlet and Violet, as it cuts the user’s HP in half but maximizes their attack. It’s perfect for an Attack Tank in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but players won’t be able to find the TM for it in Paldea.

This is because players need to complete a series of steps in order to teach their Pokémon the move for Belly Drum. These steps don’t require the use of TM, but players will need to have access to a Pokémon that can learn the Belly Drum move on their own. In Scarlet and Violet, this only includes the following Pokémon: Makuhita (level 25), Hariyama )level 26), and Iron Hands (level 84). Obviously, players will likely opt for either Makuhita or Hariyama, as both are easily found throughout Paldea.

Once players have either Pokémon and teach them Belly Drum, they can begin the process of teaching Belly Drum to other Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet.

The only Pokémon that can learn Belly Drum are Teddiursa, Azumarill, Slowpoke, Skwovet, and Eiscue. If you have any of these Pokémon, make sure that they only have three moves learned. You can delete a move for them by going into their summary page and selecting the “delete a move” option. In addition to that, you need to find a Mirror Herb and give it to the Pokémon that will learn Belly Drum. Mirror Herbs can be bought at Delibird Presents stores for 30,000 Poké Dollars.

Once you’ve selected your Pokémon to learn Belly Drum, put them in your party, while they’re holding a Mirror Herb, along with a Pokémon that already knows the move for Belly Drum. These are the only two Pokémon you can have in your party. Then, you need to go on a picnic. After a few minutes sitting in the picnic, you can leave it and the other Pokémon will learn Belly Drum.
