One of the strongest additions to the Pokédex in Sword and Shield was Dragapult, a dual Dragon and Ghost-type that could decimate any team in the game.

The Dragapult line has made a return in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, starting with the line’s first form, Dreepy. Dreepy is among the worst Pokémon that the Paldea region has to offer. The tiny Pokémon only has a base stat total of 270 and possesses decent Speed and Attack. With Dreepy being a terrible Pokémon and Dragapult being one of the best, players are desperately wondering how to evolve Dreepy in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

For players that trained Dreepy in Sword and Shield, the Pokémon’s evolution method is the same in Scarlet and Violet. However, newer players that might have just started playing the series or those that didn’t train a Dreepy will need to know how to evolve this Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, and they can see how to do below.

Evolve Dreepy in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Get Dreepy Tutorial

Dreepy features one of the highest level requirements for any evolution in the entire Pokémon franchise. To evolve Dreepy into its second form, Drakloak, players need to reach level 50. After they’ve done that, trainers need to then get Drakloak to level 60 to evolve it into the final form, Dragapult.

Dreepy can be caught at various levels in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with the most common level around the mid-20s. This means that players will need to train Dreepy for nearly two dozen levels before they can even evolve it once. Players won’t have access to Dragapult until the late-game of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet — unless they drastically over level their Dreepy/Drakloak. Essentially, what we’re saying is prepare to spend a ton of time with Dreepy in Paldea.
