You can find a number of different mounts in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, for the most part, you will be riding horses as your primary mount throughout Hyrule. Whether it’s Epona or a horse that you managed to tame in the wild, you will eventually want to customize that horse. This is done through giving it different harnesses, saddles, and changing their manes.
While the process of customizing a horse is simple enough, the game does not give you much in the way of a tutorial for how to do so. If you want to learn how to customize your horse in Tears of the Kingdom, I’ve luckily done this a bit myself. So check out the easiest way here!
Customize your horse in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Similar to how it was done in Breath of the Wild, you can customize a horse by visiting any stable in Hyrule. At the stable, you can speak to the stablehand NPC and they will give you the option to customize your horse’s attributes. However, before that, you will need to buy or find harnesses and saddles to equip on to your horse. You can buy harnesses and saddles from wandering traders or find them in random locations around the map.
Once you have some choices, head to the stable, talk to the NPC, and you will be able to swap out different harnesses and saddles. You can also change your horse’s mane through this process as well. However, some horses, like Epona, cannot be fitted with customizations, so keep that in mind whenever you are at a stable. The process of customizing your horse does not cost anything in Tears of the Kingdom, so feel free to mix and match as much as you like.
