Votive Passing is an available side quest in the Scosglen town of Braestaig in Diablo 4. Players can speak to Chieftain Asgail after completing the events of Act 2 to accept the side quest. Asgail is located just above the Braestaig Waypoint. Upon speaking to the chieftain, she will notify you that several soldiers were lost out in the fields to the north. It’s your job to mark their resting places so they can be given a proper send-off.
Many players have reported struggling to find these resting sites. The game gives you a fairly large blue zone to search for the sites. I myself spent a solid 20 minutes trying to search for the last one before discovering where it was.
If you don’t want to spend that much time, or you already have, then you can check out my guide on the Votive Passing side quest in the guide below.
Completing the Votive Passing side quest in Diablo 4
Once you have reached the blue zone where you need to search for the resting sites, you can visit the following locations to find Wards of Passing. These are white outlines on the ground that you can interact with. Doing so will build the Ward of Passing, marking one resting site off your checklist. Do this at all three locations to move on to the next part of the quest. Be careful, though, as the white outlines are very difficult to see.
Once you have successfully built a Ward of Passing at all three of these locations, you can move on to the next part of the quest, which is to find the source of the voice. Luckily, this part is easy, as the blue zone that appears is much smaller. All you’re looking for is a dying soldier on the ground. Talk to them, let them pass on, and then return to Braestaig with a ring now in your inventory.
Speak with the little girl in Braestaig and comfort her. You will be given two dialogue options to comfort her, but it doesn’t matter which one you pick. Either way, the Votive Passing side quest will be complete after speaking to the girl, giving you some gold, XP, and a cache.
