The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign is a direct sequel to this past year’s Modern Warfare 2, and it features plenty of the same characters and locations. However, the Campaign this year works a little differently, featuring Open Combat Missions that completely change how you finish certain objectives.
As a result, the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign can actually take quite a bit longer to finish depending on how you tackle these Open Combat Missions. Of course, if you’re like me, you’re not going to spend a ton of extra time on these missions, instead opting to treat them like normal missions.
How long to beat the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign
Since the Open Combat Missions change up around half of the missions in the Campaign, your time from start to finish might be different than mine or anyone else’s. However, the overall length of the Campaign won’t change too drastically unless you spend hours and hours searching for all of the weapons or items in a given mission.
If you’re just looking for the average time to beat the MW3 Campaign, you can expect it to take roughly six to seven hours. For players that speed through all of the missions, you can likely knock down that time to around five hours while completionists could spend anywhere from 10-12 hours before seeing the end credits roll.
There is a total of 15 missions in the Campaign, so you might think six or seven hours is extremely short for that amount of content. Some missions are no more than 10-20 minutes, though, which reduces the overall length of the Campaign by quite a bit.
