One of the most popular elements from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will not be included in the full release of Hogwarts Legacy. Confirmed earlier today through the game’s FAQ, Quidditch will not be a part of Hogwarts Legacy. While it was never fully expected that Quidditch was going to be a full-fledged feature in the upcoming title, some fans were still holding out a sliver of hope. However, the developers did not rule out the possibility of Quidditch playing a smaller role in the story.

They did state that players will not be able to play Quidditch themselves, though. On the Hogwarts Legacy website’s FAQ, the developers state:

“Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy. However, broom flight for traversal and broom race challenges are part of the game. Players can also fly brooms to explore new and familiar locations surrounding Hogwarts Castle.”

While Quidditch itself will not be playable, players will still be able to use brooms to traverse around Hogwarts and even partake in broom races/challenges. It’s not clear exactly how broom-riding will work in Hogwarts Legacy, but it can be safely assumed that players will be able to take their broom and travel around between missions in-game.

In the FAQ statement about Quidditch, the developers said that the game won’t be playable. However, they did not say that Quidditch wouldn’t be a part of Hogwarts Legacy in some way. Perhaps players will be able to take in a Quidditch match from their House grandstands, or at least see the game being played in some capacity.

Hogwarts Legacy has been receiving plenty of buzz over the last few weeks. This is mainly in part to the new gameplay trailer from Gamescom and the new Common Room tours. The game will be playable starting on Feb. 10, 2023, but players who preorder a specific edition of the game will receive early access.
