Earlier this week, Hogwarts Legacy received a brand new gameplay trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022.

Following that presentation, the developers revealed one of the editions for the game, the Digital Deluxe Edition. This edition, which is only available for digital purchases, features a plethora of in-game cosmetics that can only be earned by players who preorder it. The price for the Digital Deluxe Edition has yet to be revealed, but it will assuredly be less than the Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy.

The Collector’s Edition was fully revealed this morning after being teased by the developers yesterday. This edition, which has yet to be priced but rumors say it will cost roughly $300, features most of what the Digital Deluxe Edition offers. However, what makes the Collector’s Edition unique is all of the real-world content that fans receive from preordering it.

Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition

Here are the contents for the Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy:

  • Dark Arts Pack
    • Dark Arts Cosmetic Set
    • Thestral Mount
    • Dark Arts Battle Arena
  • Steel Case + Full Game (PC players will receive a digital code while console players will receive the physical disc)
  • Collector’s Edition Box
  • Floating Wand (Life-Size) with Book Base
  • Kelpie Robe
  • 72 Hours Early Access
  • Dark Arts Garrison Hat

Ultimately, it will be up to fans to decide if all of this is worth the roughly $300 asking price. The early consensus on this edition was mostly negative, though, as a majority of fans on social media claimed the contents of the edition wasn’t worth the price. There was also some confusion about the Floating Wand and Book Base.

To clear up any confusion, the developers showed off the items to give fans a better idea of what they’re buying.

Hogwarts Legacy launches on Feb. 10 for any fan that doesn’t preorder the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition. For those players, the game releases on Feb. 7. We’ll have to await word on an official price for the Collector’s Edition. As of right now, though, it seems like the Digital Deluxe Edition might be the better bargain for players’ money.
